Biologisch-Dynamisch 

De biologisch dynamische landbouw is gebaseerd op de filosofie van Rudolf Steiner en gaat uit van ecologische harmonie: alles in de natuur (bodem, planten, dieren en de mens) leeft samen in een web van onderlinge interactie en afhankelijkheid dat functioneert als gesloten systeem. Voedingsstoffen en (regen)water worden hierbinnen continue uitgewisseld. Er wordt gestreefd naar een zo groot mogelijke biodiversiteit, zodat de ecologie zich zoveel mogelijk zelf kan sturen. De productie en distributie van voedsel is lokaal. Chemische middelen (kunstmest, pesticiden) worden niet gebruikt. In plaats daarvan wordt gebruik gemaakt van combinatieteelt (het combineren van planten die kunnen elkaar versterken en positief beïnvloeden), gewasrotatie, compost en dierlijke mest.

Het zaaien, planten en oogsten gebeurt met behulp van de astronomische kalender; de stand van de maan en sterren bepaalt het juiste moment waarop dit moet gebeuren. Alle zaden zijn biologisch-dynamisch (eigen zaden, en van www.debolster.nl). Ook wordt gebruik gemaakt van preparaten die de functie hebben de grond vruchtbaar te maken, micro-organismen in de bodem te stimuleren en de bodemstructuur te verbeteren.

In dit bed hebben we de volgende principes toegepast: we hebben de bodem verrijkt met een biologisch-dynamisch preparaat, we hebben geplant met behulp van de maankalender, we doen aan gewasrotatie en maken voor dit bed ook biologisch-dynamische compost en gier die we als bemesting gebruiken.

 Biodynamic

Biodynamic agriculture is based on Rudoph Steiner’s philosophy of ecological harmony: soil, plants, animals and humans co-exist in a web of mutual interaction and dependency that functions as a closed system within which nutrients and (rain)water are continuously exchanged. The goal is to allow the ecosystem to manage itself so far as possible by creating maximum space for biodiversity. Food production and distribution takes place on a local level. Instead of chemical additives (artificial fertilizers, pesticides), companion planting (the combination of plants that can strengthen and positively influence each other), crop rotation, compost and animal manure are used.

Sowing, planting and harvesting happen in consultation with the astronomical calendar; the position of the moon and stars determine the precise moments for certain activities (e.g. tilling, planting, harvesting). All seeds are bio-dynamic (either self-saved or from www.debolster.nl). Preparations are also used in order to improve soil structure and increase soil micro-organisms and fertility.

We are working in this bed while following these principles: we enriched the soil with a biodynamic preparation; we plant in accordance with the moon; we will rotate crops from year to year; and we will use biodynamic compost and liquid fertilizer.
